Bach Advent Concert - 27th of November at 17hrs.
The Choir of Hallgrímskirkja and Brák Baroque ensemble invite you to a concert on the first Sunday of Advent, with a diverse program by J.S. Bach. The concert starts off with three organ preludes over the hymn Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland. After the organ preludes comes the motet Lobet den Herrn, alle Heiden before Brák takes the spotlight, performing Bach’s beloved Violin concerto in a-minor with soloist Elfa Rún Kristinsdóttir. The concert ends with Bach’s famous Advent cantata: Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland (BWV 61) where Brák, The Choir of Hallgrímskirkja and vocal soloists join hands in a musical celebration, invoking the spirit of the Advent season.
