In this meditative Christmas concert, organist Tómas Guðni Eggertsson and pianist Davíð Þór Jónsson will perform Christmas chorale preludes by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750). These preludes stem from the manuscript Orgelbüchlein, or The Little Organ Book, which was printed by Felix Mendelssohn in the first half of the 19th century.

The two musicians have over the past years developed an innovative way to present the chorale preludes by their beloved friend Bach – a style that is in fact still evolving. Davíð Þór improvises on the church's grand piano around the preludes played by Tómas Guðni on the Klais organ. Additionally, the organ registrations are altered from the traditional settings. However, the performers maintain full respect for the integrity and original intent of Bach’s timeless masterpieces.
